Cognitive Assessments

Cognitive Assessments

We offer comprehensive cognitive assessments which will reveal your cognitive strengths and weaknesses. This is useful for all students, whether they are gifted, mainstream, or students in need of learning support through individual learning plans. It is also used for diagnosis of Intellectual Disability, which is needed to support applications for NDIS and/or school funding. If necessary, we can also use cognitive assessments to assess for Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorders, Specific Learning Disorders, or other problems with executive functioning.

Cognitive Assessment packages can include:

  • Clinical Interview with the client and/or caregiver

  • Wechsler Intelligence Scale (WPPSI-IV, WISC-V, or WAIS-IV)

  • Wechsler Individual Achievement Test (WIAT-III)

  • Adaptive Behaviour Assessment System (ABAS-III)

  • Conners 3

  • Comprehensive Executive Function Inventory (CEFI)

You will receive a comprehensive report detailing the assessment, interpretations, and recommendations. This will also be provided in the form of a 50 minute feedback session.

Autism Assessments

We offer comprehensive Autism (ASD) assessments, used to assess and diagnose children in need of additional support. These assessments are vital in the identification of ASD, allowing the child or young person to access much needed support in schools and through funding agencies (NDIS).

Autism Assessment packages can include:

  • Clinical Interview with the client and/or caregiver

  • The Autism Diagnostic Interview (ADI-R)

  • The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2)

  • Wechsler Intelligence Scale (WPPSI-IV, WISC-V, or WAIS-IV)

  • Adaptive Behaviour Assessment System (ABAS-III) or Vineland

  • Autism Spectrum Rating Scale (ASRS)

  • Social Responsiveness Scale (SRS)

  • Conners Behaviour Rating Scale (CBRS)

When testing is complete a comprehensive report is written and provided to the parents/client. The report will include the results, interpretations and diagnosis, and recommendations. Reports can also be directly provided to your doctors or school if needed.

Functional Behaviour Assessments

Assessing a client's individual strengths and weaknesses in their adaptive behaviour is important for understanding how their disability may be impacting on their daily life skills. Providing an accurate snapshot of a client's adaptive skills is useful for evaluating those with developmental delays, autism, intellectual disability, learning disabilities, neuropsychological disorders, and sensory or physical impairments.

This assessment package includes:

  • Clinical Interview with the client and/or caregiver

  • Adaptive Behaviour Assessment System (ABAS-III)

This includes a comprehensive report with analysis, interpretations, and recommendations. This is especially useful for clients who require updated assessments for NDIS funding reviews, as it will outline specific areas in need of additional support and/or intervention.

Personality Assessments

Personality assessments can be used to detect and identify clinical disorders and screen for psychopathology. It can be used for diagnosis, treatment planning, and guiding intervention. This assessment is able to provide measures of such characteristics and patterns of cognitive and emotional states, preoccupations, motivations, attitudes, and approaches to interpersonal relationships. Personality tests provide information to assist in the determination of specific personality disorders including Borderline, Narcissistic, Dependent, Obsessive-Compulsive and Anti-Social Personality Disorder. 

 

This will involve:

  • Clinical Interview with the client and/or caregiver

  • Personality Assessment Inventory (PAI)

  • Scoring and Interpretation report

In addition to the comprehensive report, the client will receive a 50 minute feedback session with the psychologist.
